Award from the European Physical Society for Jungfraujoch: Historic Site 2019

Since its inauguration in 1931, the High Altitude Research Station Jungfraujoch has been open to scientists from all over the world. Thereby it established the reputation of Switzerland as an international host country with excellent research infrastructures.

For this pioneering spirit the European Physical Society (EPS) honors the research station with the award as historic physics site.

On February 7, 2019 there was a symposium in Bern in honor of this award and on February 8, 2019 the EPS Historic Site plaque was undraped in the framework of a ceremonial act at Jungfraujoch.
