Jungfrau East Ridge

Since 2014 additional lab space is available in the former Swisscom relay station at the Jungfrau East Ridge (3’700 m asl). There is a room available on the second floor as well as one in the attic. A heated inlet system is installed on the roof of the house. The infrastructure especially allows to record climate and environmental information.

The Jungfrau East Ridge building is reachable from the railway station Jungfraujoch through a tunnel in rock and ice (total length: 560 m) and by a funicular railway for overcoming the difference in altitude of 240 m.
