ngEHT meeting in Zermatt
Zermatt, July 25, 2025; the teams of Shep Doeleman from Harvard and Director of ngEHT (next generation Event Horizon Telescope), Jean-Paul Kneib from EPFL Astrophysics, together with Timm Riesen, Director of Stellarium Gornergrat, and Silvio Decurtins, President of HFSJG, are guests of our HFSJG member, the Burgergemeinde Zermatt. The aim of the meeting was to inform the President of the municipality of Zermatt, Romy Biner-Hauser, the President of the Burgergemeinde Zermatt, Leo Schuler, and the representative of MGBahn, Marco Tacchella, about the project idea for a new radio telescope on the Gornergrat. It was an important meeting, and the future will show whether the plan can be realized.
