In January, the Northern Lights could also be seen at Jungfraujoch. Picture: HFSJG
The ETH Zürich, Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering, carried out bi-static Ku-Band radar experiments for polarimetric, interferometric and tomographic snow investigations at the research station Jungfraujoch. The picture shows two KAPRI devices for tomographic acquisitions. Front device (right) is fixed on the pedestal while the device behind (left) can be adjusted. Picture: ETH Zürich.
Arts at CERN, the arts programme of the European Laboratory for Particle Physics, welcomed the two artists Céline Manz and Juan Sorrentino as part of the Connect Argentina residency program. The artists pursue artistic research related to particle physics, with a focus on cosmic rays. For this reason, they met with Dr. Lukas Bäni at the research station at Jungfraujoch, to learn more about the cosmic ray research and the neutron monitors up there. The picture shows (from left to right) Lukas Bäni, Céline Manz, Juan Sorrentino in front of the neutron monitor in the Sphinx-laboratory. Picture: Xenia Harder, CERN
The Administrative Directorate of the University of Bern visited the High Altitude Research Station Jungfraujoch on a beautiful day and gained insight into the current research projects. Picture: HFSJG
